About Me

As an IT professional, I have over 20 years of experience in solving technical problems. My background has been primarily in the UNIX/Linux Systems Administration areas. Recently, I have been focusing on the discipline of DevOps, leveraging my System Administration background to automate software deployments using CA/Automic’s Application Release Automation and Python.

On the side, I write this blog. While I haven’t decided on a project just yet, I am really enjoying learning Kotlin. Stay tuned. I have some things in mind.

Personal Life

On a personal note, my wife, Cara, and I have three sons and a daughter. Both Cara and I have lived in the St. Louis area for all our lives. We have been married for 19 years.

I enjoy listening to music, progressive rock specifically. But, there really isn’t much that I don’t enjoy. Thanks to streaming services and local community radio, like KDHX, I have a broad musical palate.

Earlier in 2018, I competed in my first powerlifting meet. I started this journey in June 2017 with a goal of totaling 800 pounds. At the 2018 USAPL Missouri State Powerlifting Championships, I totaled 810 pounds. It wasn’t much in comparison to others, but I set a goal and reached it. My next target is 900 pounds.

Community Service

I am an active member of my community, serving as a lector at St. Rose Philippine Duchesne Parish. I am the current Chair of the North County Catholic Youth Council (CYC).

I am also past President of the St. Rose Men’s Club and past Vice-Chair of the North County CYC.
